The fourth biennial Place Matters Conference will address the leading preventable causes of death in Oregon – tobacco, obesity, poor nutrition and physical inactivity – and the community conditions that contribute to these risk factors. Where we live, work, play and learn all exert a powerful effect on whether we can prevent and manage heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases and access optimal health.
Together, we are creating more places where the default choices are healthy, where unhealthy choices are rare, and where all Oregonians can take care of their health.
The overarching goal of Place Matters is:
“All people in Oregon live, work, play and learn in communities that support health and optimal quality of life.”
